Introduction

If you have found your way to this blog you already know about the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. This is a effort to determine whether there is interest in an open exchange about the yearly problem. Comments on the competition itself, judging, restaurants, facilities and events are also welcome.

If you are here, you are likely to be familiar with this year's problem. As usual it contains a procedural element and a substantive element that requires application of the Convention on the International Sale of Goods. This year's problem is challenging. The arbitration clause itself is part of a contract, the existence of which is in question.

I invite anyone who wants to to post a comment on this blog. Unfortunately, I am not sure it is possible to arrange the blog as a "open forum." This you can do one of three things. First, write a comment. Two, send your entry to me and I will publish as a post under your name. Third, write a comment with your name and I will copy it into the blog as a comment unless you specifically indicate that you want it to appear as a comment only or I determine that it is most useful as a comment.

So, let's see what happens.
